The Kidco Community Centre at St. Dominic in northeast Edmonton is located inside St. Dominic Catholic Elementary School. We offer full and part time programs for children attending kindergarten to grade 6 with capacity for 24 children.
St. Dominic is a licensed and accredited centre with high quality child care that embraces the individuality and diversity of each child and family in a safe and nurturing environment. Our learning through play approach is filled with creative activities to help minds, bodies, emotions and social skills develop. Our caregivers are trained to program and facilitate activities based on the children’s interests and events happening in the world that surrounds them. They are experts in their field, trained in early childhood education as well as safety standards, first-aid and CPR.
You’ll feel welcomed at our centre from the moment you step in. There is a comfort in the convenience of having a child care program right in the school. Our director and staff are a close-knit group with a passion for teaching and having fun with our kids and families. The summer months are filled with a wide variety of experiences and field trips for our afterschool children. With access to the school gym, children have the opportunity to experience physical activities for children in a fun and safe environment.
We offer snacks from our Kidco Super Snack Menu that are nutritious and well balanced. Our menu is developed to address the nutritional needs of growing children and to comply with the most recent version of Canada’s Food Guide. All snacks and meals are served at appropriate times in age-appropriate serving sizes.
We pride ourselves on flexible, reliable child care that kids love and parents trust. Our rates are competitive and qualifying families can receive subsidy at our centre. Contact the Centre Director or click here for more information from Alberta Child and Youth Services.

Meet The Director
My name is Shayleen and I am the Director of the St. Dominic’s Daycare Kidco Community location. I have my Level 2 in early childhood education from CDI College and have been at the centre for a decade. In my free time I do custom circuit vinyl projects and make a wide variety of handmade cups, keepsakes, home decor and more. I also enjoy taking my dogs to the park and spending time with family and friends.
Our team is passionate and up for any adventure! Our favourite part about working with kids is seeing the world through their eyes. They keep me young at heart and I love that not one day at work is the same. Our program uses the Reggio Emilia Approach, emphasizing hands-on discovery learning to allow children to use all of their senses and languages. We bring a lot of nature into the centre and have a very unique, nurturing environment.
Now that you know a bit more about me, I would love to meet you! I hope you come visit and see for yourself how Kidco Community can provide the right care and education for your child.
