The Kidco Community Centre at Fort Saskatchewan offers full and part time programs for children 0 to 12 years of age with seven classrooms and a capacity for up to 116 children.
Fort Saskatchewan is a licensed and accredited centre which provides high quality child care that embraces the individuality and diversity of each child and family that we serve in a safe and nurturing environment. Our learning through play approach is filled with creative activities to help minds, bodies, emotions and social skills develop. Our teachers are trained to program and facilitate activities based on the children’s interests and events happening in the world around them. They are experts in their field, trained in early childhood education as well as safety standards, first-aid and CPR.
You’ll feel welcomed at our centre from the moment you step up the charming stairs surrounded by brick walls and a hand painted mural to the time you explore our beautiful and sunny second floor classrooms. Our director and staff are a close-knit group with a passion for teaching and having fun with our kids and families. The summer months are filled with a wide variety of experiences and field trips for our afterschool children. Outside, there is a secure play area with toys, water activities and a vegetable garden that is cared for by the children.
We offer lunch & snacks from our Kidco Kitchen Menu that are nutritious and well balanced. Our menu is developed to address the nutritional needs of growing children to comply with the most recent version of Canada’s Food Guide. All snacks and meals are served at appropriate times in age appropriate serving sizes.
We pride ourselves on flexible, reliable child care that kids love and parents trust. Our rates are competitive and qualifying families can receive subsidy at our centre. Contact the Centre Director or click here for more information from Alberta Child and Youth Services.
Meet The Director
My name is Kellie and I am the Director at the Fort Saskatchewan Kidco Community location. I have my level 2/3 from CDI college and have been working in childcare for almost two decades. In my free time you’ll find me camping, on a quad, or with my horses. I also enjoy reading, traveling and working on art projects (you’ll see art is important in our centre too!).
My favourite thing about our teachers is how amazingly dedicated and hardworking they are. I am so thankful to be part of a team that is truly focused on the children. We love helping them learn and facilitating new experiences that push their imaginations and skills. One of my favourite things is our Positivity Wall: parents, staff, and children write positive things about our centre and those that impact them.
Now that you know a bit more about me, I would love to meet you! I hope you come visit and see for yourself how Kidco Community can provide the right care and education for your child.
